We have a wide variety of dogs for adoption. We want to work with you on selecting the right pet to join your family. We will ask a lot of questions, not to judge your ability to be a good pet parent, but to help you select the right pet for your lifestyle. After we have talked to you by phone or email, you come to the farm to meet your pet (if we have your match), we may give you a couple options, or help you find a match somewhere else. After you meet your potiential pet and the pet and you approve of each other, one of our volunteers will do a home visit. This is not to judge you or your home, but to help you set thing up best to keep your pet safe and happy. And possibly to warn you of potiential problems. While you are getting ready for your pet, he or she will go to our vet for a final health check and to get a year's supply of heartgard. Once you are set up for your new family member, you will get to bring your family to the farm to pick him or her up. If you have other dogs, now is the time to bring them and introduce them on a fun play date away from their territory. You will also get a training session on our farm with our trainer as her schedule allows. We really like you to know their talents and how they should behave after they adjust to your home. Our adoption fee is a donation to our medical fund and can be up to you and what you can afford. We hope for $150 which covers 1 vet exam, 1 set of vaccinations, 1 microchip, and 1 heart worm check. In addition to the adoption fee, you will be reimbursing us for the cost of the heartgard. This price varies depending on the size of your pet. It is generally between $40 and $60. Your new pet will come with a fresh vet exam, a recent heartworm test, a registered microchip, and current vaccinations.
